Thank You for 60 Years of Trust
A Message to Our Clients
At BHS Construction, we’ve spent the last 60 years building long-standing relationships, many of which have lasted decades. That kind of consistency and retention is rare in any industry, and we strive to earn the trust of our partners with every project. Every groundbreaking, ribbon cutting, and grand opening begins with something deeper: trust.
As we celebrate our 60th anniversary this year, we want to pause and say thank you to all of our clients who have allowed us to do what we love for six decades. Every project we take on is an honor, and we appreciate all of you, our valued clients, for trusting us to make your project come to life. You have trusted us with spaces that matter deeply, building your schools, churches, healthcare facilities, local businesses, public parks and community spaces. These places serve families, students, employees, and entire communities. You’ve trusted us with your vision. And to us, that’s everything.

One of the things we hear often from our clients is how involved we are, even beyond the contract. That is by design. Patrick Schutter, current president of BHS, described this culture well:
“We treat our owners like they’re family. If something is wrong or we think it won’t last, we usually fix it before the owner even knows there’s a problem.”
Patrick Schutter, President
That proactive mindset is not something we put on for show. It is a value passed down from Wayne to every project team we have today. From our earliest days, we’ve believed in building relationships just as intentionally as we build each of our projects. That mindset hasn’t changed. Whether it’s a small renovation or a landmark project in downtown Manhattan, we treat every job and every client with the care and commitment of a true partnership.
“I would like people, as they look on BHS, to say that BHS is a partner... Not just a construction firm.”
Wayne Sloan, Founder
Many of our clients come back to us again and again. That trust comes from shared experience. We’ve been there for every tight turnaround, and we do the right thing for our clients, no matter the cost. Our field management cares for each project on a personal level, and you can often find crews working before the sun comes up to pump water after a big rain or to clean debris from a windy night. Our dedicated Client Solutions division works tirelessly to ensure the satisfaction of each client long after the contract ends, servicing each of our valued partners. BHS does the right thing day in and day out, because we want to exceed the expectations of each of our valued clients, and we do it because we care.

“We include our owners in the word ‘family.’ We treat them like they’re our brother, sister, mom, and dad... and care about their project most of the time more than they do.”
Patrick Schutter, President
We’re especially proud of the work we’ve done in collaboration with you, our clients, to help shape communities. Projects like St. Isidore’s, the Immaculata, Tallgrass Taphouse, and Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 were projects that helped bring BHS to the next level. Every partnership and every project is special to us. Each project has shaped us. Each owner has taught us something new. And together, they have made us better builders and better partners.

“You start at the mall and work your way towards the city park, and you can’t take five steps without coming across a building we’ve worked on. I love the feeling of driving down through that area and realizing we’ve helped all those people out and they keep coming back.”
Levi Schneider, Vice President of Construction Operations
That impact wouldn’t be possible without all of you. Our presence in your community isn’t solely the result of our commitment to quality craftsmanship, it’s the result of trust earned through years of doing the work well and building relationships with each of our partners.
Thank you for choosing BHS. To everyone who has trusted us with their vision, from small business owners to university leaders, parish councils, hospital boards, school districts, and private developers, thank you. Thank you for challenging us to do our best and for letting us be part of your story.
Thank you for inviting us into your visions, your challenges, and your communities. Your confidence in our team fuels our purpose, and your loyalty inspires us to grow stronger with each passing year.
BHS prioritizes relationships first, and we strive to Build Together with care, with craftsmanship, and with the same commitment to excellence that’s guided us for 60 years. We’re honored to be your builder, your partner, and your neighbor.
