BHS Construction, a leading commercial general contractor based in Manhattan, is thrilled about the appointment of Gavin Schmidt as the new Director of Business Development. Schmidt, previously Market President at ESB Financial in Manhattan, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to BHS Construction, marking a significant milestone as the company expands its business development efforts.
Patrick Schutter, President of BHS Construction, shares his excitement in welcoming Schmidt to the team: “I’m thrilled to welcome Gavin to our team at BHS. His extensive business experience is a valuable addition, bringing a fresh perspective to our staff. With his background in business and finance, including expertise in securing grants, loans, cash, and investments, Gavin is well-equipped to guide owners through the financial complexities of successful projects. Additionally, his many years working in the Manhattan area have helped him build a network of trusted relationships that will further benefit our clients.”
As BHS Construction embarks on a new chapter of growth, Schmidt’s role is pivotal. This marks the first time in the company’s nearly 60-year history that a dedicated business development professional has been appointed. Schmidt’s expertise in strategic business growth is instrumental as BHS Construction continues to enhance its presence in the community and beyond.
Gavin Schmidt, a lifelong Kansas resident and Manhattan local for 18 years, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Kansas State University. Schmidt’s four-year tenure as Market President at ESB Financial has equipped him with valuable insights and skills that he now leverages to advance BHS Construction’s strategic initiatives.
“BHS Construction has developed a stellar reputation within the community for both their culture and excellent work. When the opportunity to join such a dynamic organization presented itself, it was something I jumped on. Investing in relationships, integrity, and dedication are a few of BHS Construction’s core values that I strongly align with,” Schmidt says. “I look forward to building genuine relationships with people and working hard to exceed their expectations.”
In his new role, Schmidt works closely with BHS executives to drive the company’s growth strategy. His responsibilities include expanding market reach, fostering relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, and spearheading networking and sales training efforts. Schmidt focuses on identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities to support BHS Construction’s ambitious expansion goals.
