Expanding Our Legacy

What's Next for BHS?

As BHS Construction approaches its 60th anniversary, we are taking a moment to look back with gratitude and look ahead with excitement. For the past six decades, BHS has been a partner in progress, a supporter of local communities, and a trusted builder for clients across Kansas.

Our foundation was built on trust, collaboration, and craftsmanship. These values have guided every project and every relationship since 1965. As we move forward, those same principles will continue to shape how we grow, how we serve, and how we build what’s next.

Expanding Our Reach

We are proud to announce that BHS Construction has opened a new office in Lawrence, Kansas, expanding our reach into both the Lawrence and Kansas City markets. This milestone marks an exciting new chapter for our company.

The decision to grow into these regions came from a simple goal: to bring the BHS experience to more clients and communities. We have seen firsthand how collaboration and local connection make projects stronger, and this move allows us to build those relationships in new places.

Our expansion reflects a commitment to long-term partnerships, community involvement, and the same hands-on leadership that has been a hallmark of BHS for decades.

Already, our teams are working on several notable projects in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas. These projects showcase the creativity, craftsmanship, and reliability that our partners have come to expect from BHS. Each one also gives us the opportunity to engage with new clients, learn from new communities, and strengthen our role as a trusted Kansas builder.

Even as we grow, Manhattan will always remain our home base. The relationships we have built here continue to guide how we approach our work. The expansion into new markets does not change who we are, it simply allows us to share the same trusted methods, attention to detail, and community focus with more people across the state.

Building With Purpose

Every project tells a story. Whether we are remodeling a parish hall, constructing a school addition, or updating a business space, the heart of our work comes from the people involved. Our team members bring pride, passion, and purpose to every job site.

Superintendent Derek Frasier reflected on what makes his work meaningful during the United Bank and Trust project:

"To be known for quality work or a positive attitude is something to be proud of, but when a client wishes to extend the construction process because they simply enjoy the team, that is something special.”

His words capture what makes BHS unique. Every project becomes a partnership built on respect, communication, and care.

Foreman Bryant Duenas shared a similar experience when describing a project that held personal significance:

“The most meaningful project I’ve been a part of was the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish Hall Remodel in Herington, Kansas. It was a wonderful opportunity to impact the community where my family lives. To be part of something that touches both my personal and professional life will always hold a significant amount of pride.”

For Bryant, and for many on our team, the work we do is deeply personal. We live in the same communities where we build. We see the impact of our work every day—in schools, churches, offices, and neighborhoods. That connection fuels our dedication to do things the right way, every time.

Honoring the Past, Building the Future

As we prepare to celebrate 60 years next month, we are reminded of the many people who have been part of this journey. From the early days of small, local projects to the large-scale developments we manage today, every step forward has been made possible by our clients, our team, and our partners who share our belief in doing things with integrity and care.

Looking ahead, we are excited for what the next chapter holds. Our new Lawrence office opens doors to new partnerships and new opportunities to serve. We plan to continue growing in ways that strengthen our people, our communities, and the quality of work we deliver.

Our goal remains the same as it was in 1965: to build spaces that last, relationships that matter, and communities that thrive.

Thank You!

As we approach this milestone anniversary, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been part of the BHS story. To our employees, clients, subcontractors, and community partners: thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and growing with us.

The future of BHS Construction is bright because of you. Together, we are continuing a proud legacy and building what’s next for Kansas.
