Celebrating Our People

The Heart of BHS Construction

As we celebrate 60 years of BHS Construction, we want to take a moment to recognize what truly sets us apart: our people. From the field to the front office, our culture has been shaped by decades of hard work, loyalty, and shared values. The story of BHS is not just about the projects we have built, but about the people who built them brick by brick, beam by beam, and handshake by handshake.

This month, we’re proud to celebrate the individuals who have helped BHS grow into the company it is today. Their dedication, leadership, and passion continue to leave a lasting mark on our projects and our community.

Meet Brad Sinn

One of the individuals who truly embodies the spirit of BHS
is Brad Sinn. Brad was the second employee hired at BHS back in 1982, right
after Wayne Sloan, who served as President from 1982 to 2018. Starting as a
carpenter, Brad brought hands-on experience from his time working for Wayne’s
father at Green Construction. His natural leadership and deep knowledge of the
trade quickly became a huge asset to the growing company.

Brad went on to serve for many years as a Superintendent, leading job sites with skill, consistency, and a level of care that set the tone for our field teams. Today, he continues to be an invaluable part of our team as Shop Manager, applying his 42 years of experience to support our field operations with the same passion he brought on day one.

When asked what makes BHS different from other construction companies, Brad’s answer is simple and telling: “The quality of management and field employees.” That mindset of valuing people, teamwork, and trust defines our culture to this day.

For Brad, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is witnessing the impact of a finished project, seeing clients and end users appreciate the space for the first time. “The completion of a project and the appreciation from the client and those who use the building for the first time is memorable to me,” he shares.

Over the years, much has changed, especially with advancements in technology. Brad recalls, “Back in the day, I was given a set of plans and told where the location was, and I went and built a building.” Even as the tools have evolved, the heart of what we do remains constant: building spaces that matter with pride, skill, and purpose.

His advice to someone starting a career in construction? “Enjoy it. Don’t look at it as just a job, but an opportunity to take a piece of ground, or a deteriorating building, and turn it into a new, usable facility, home, or place that is used by many and will last for years.”
