Eugene Field Early Learning Center serves Manhattan's early learners in new, state of the art classrooms. It was one of the two Early Learning Centers completed in the USD 383 Manhattan-Ogden bond project. The project was three major scopes - a full interior renovation of classrooms and offices, a 14 classroom addition and all new playground equipment. Tucked into a quiet Manhattan neighborhood, care and communication were key to site planning and construction logistics.

When transforming the old gym into the new kitchen and offices, the gym floor was saved and repurposed as panels on the new reception desk - a creative way of preserving some history of this building. BHS workers took great care during demolition to save this flooring. BHS felt a strong connection to this project, Chairman Wayne Sloan, a Manhattan native, attended elementary school at Eugene Field and years later was a part of the renovation!
