USD 378 Riley County chose BHS as their partner to pass a bond & upgrade their facilities.

Architect & Location

Anderson Knight Architects
Riley, Kansas

An advocate for the district through a campaign, BHS served the community with insight to questions and expertise on facility assessment. After a successful election, construction on both the grade and high school was made a much needed reality.

As the Construction Manager pre-bond, BHS provided expertise on facility assessment and review to directly impact the bond scope. Listening to input early in preconstruction and transitioning that to construction assured taxpayers their money was being used efficiently and for what they wanted for their students.

The project included interior renovations on both the high school and grade school campuses, a new gym was added to the grade school, while the high school received a new track. The bulk of construction took place over the summer months so as not to disturb student learning. Work was completed on the two campuses over a short schedule duration and students were in new classrooms when the bells rang in the fall. The Riley project was a testament to BHS's reputation for on schedule, on budget project completions.

"If we had to rank BHS on a scale of 1 to 10 we would probably give them an 11 and we sincerely mean that… They were just good knowledgeable people that cared about the process, we felt like they owned our process…. And in the end we know that we were able to do more projects because of their expertise."
