Having Fun at the Annual BHS Fall Picnic!
Each year BHS Construction hosts various annual events to bring employees and their families together. This year marked the second annual BHS Fall Picnic held at Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Kansas. We were excited to see that most of our team and their families were able to attend! There were various activities to enjoy throughout the afternoon, bounce houses for the kids, fishing in the Anneberg park pond for all, and the highly anticipated annual cornhole tournament. Moe’s BBQ catered side dishes to pair with our 200+ person pig roast cooked up by Mark Knackendoffel, our team enjoyed loads of food and refreshing drinks.
The Annual Cornhole Tournament was held in two divisions, the adult division for ages 14+ and the kids division for all ages under 14. This event brought competition, joy and laughter to all who participated. After battling each other for the victorious title, Shawn and Melissa Colby took first place in the adult division and brought home their well-deserved trophies and added their name to the BHS Annual Cornhole Tournament plaque. In the kid’s division, Benton Alt and Cannon Sloan were champions taking home their 1st place trophies + prizes.
Who doesn’t love prizes? Throughout the evening winners were announced for various door prizes. Everyone had a chance to bring home their favored prize – gift cards for local stores, prize baskets for kids and adults, Kansas State University and Chiefs apparel and much more!
This year the Fall Picnic doubled as an enjoyable company event and a retirement party for Galen Wickstrum, BHS Superintendent. After 24 years Galen said goodbye to BHS Construction as he begins to enjoy his well-deserved retirement. As a small token of appreciation from BHS, Galen received a 16lb custom sledgehammer commemorating his time with our company. Thank you, Galen, for your 24 years of dedication to BHS Construction!
The Fall Picnic offers the perfect setting for all employees to enjoy a fun-filled day and spend time with coworkers off the field and out of the office. This event is testament to the commitment BHS has in fostering relationships across jobsites and in the office. Thank you to all who attended, and we hope to see you again next year!
