BHS Construction Training

Congratulations to the nine BHS Employees who recently completed the Phase 1 Spring Training Course: Plan Reading, Estimating, and Scheduling. This course was a collaborative effort involving BHS Project Managers, Superintendents, Carpenters, and Estimators, who shared real-life experiences about the construction field. BHS remains committed to supporting our employees with ongoing training opportunities to help them professionally grow and develop new skills in their careers.

Hardhat Graduation

BHS is proud to recognize our newest recipients of a White Hardhat. Wyatt Beltz, Dakota Gillig, Brennan Walker, Nate Allen, Camden Seales and Jarritt Martens (not pictured). For an employee to receive a White Hardhat, they must complete their 90-day probationary period, or be recognized by their supervisor as someone who has consistently performed above and beyond in their new role, while showing a high level of understanding for the required safety policies and practices on the jobsite.

BHS is also delighted to announce that Tyler Havens, our newest superintendent, received his Gray Hardhat in May. This Gray Hardhat signifies his role as a BHS superintendent in the field.

Leadership Manhattan

Congratulations to Josh Michal on his graduation from Leadership Manhattan! This program works with leaders in the Manhattan area to strengthen their interpersonal and professional skills, and provides insight into the community’s challenges and opportunities to prepare them for additional leadership roles.

Project Updates

Columbian Theatre Eagle – Wamego, KS
The Eagle Has Landed! A recent storm toppled the iconic silver eagle of the Columbian Theatre. Wamego’s beloved historical treasure has been restored after being recovered, repaired, and replaced atop the roof. It will continue to soar over downtown Wamego for citizens and visitors to admire!
Riley Count EMS Headquarters
Project Update! The first CMU wall is now up, marking a significant milestone. The foundation is scheduled to be poured in mid-July, which will further define the structure of the building. With these developments, the project is set to take shape rapidly in the coming weeks.
Lofts at 1700
The exterior of the Lofts at 1700 project is progressing well. Originally, each condo’s entrance was located at the back of the building. After a redesign, these entrances have been relocated to the front, offering a more welcoming approach. The decking framework is beginning to take shape.
